ADHD Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder is the most prevalent neurobehavioral disorder and affects 6-9% of children and adolescents.

There is a link between SUD and ADHD in both directions.

Going from SUD to ADHD the connection is made.

In a large study of over 3500 patients seeking treating for SUD, 40% screened positive for ADHD.

In a large study of adolescents with CUD, 38% of them also had ADHD.

Going in the other direction, from  ADHD to SUD we see the connection.

Children with ADHD have a 2-fold increase risk of developing SUD

We know that ADHD symptoms can increase by 30% because of drugs.
